Halal Frozen Beef Brain | Premium Fresh Beef Brain for Export
Beef brain doesn’t get talked about much outside the offal trade, but demand for it has grown steadily among importers serving South Asian, Middle Eastern, and African communities. We supply halal frozen beef brain from S.I.F.-registered facilities in Brazil, and honestly, it’s one of the trickier cuts to handle right because it bruises if you look at it wrong and spoils quickly once the cold chain slips even a little.
Our slaughter process follows halal protocol from start to finish. The brain is removed by hand shortly after slaughter, not run through machinery, which keeps the tissue intact and avoids the tearing you sometimes see with bulk-processed offal. After cleaning, we freeze it fast at -18°C so the texture holds up during transit and storage. What buyers get is a whole unit with natural coloring and no ice crystallization from slow freezing.
Product Highlights
- Each unit is halal-certified and traceable back to the facility it came from.
- We trim membrane and surface blood by hand before freezing, so the product looks clean when it arrives rather than needing extra prep on the buyer’s end.
- There’s no added water or preservatives in the process.
- Packaging comes in either poly bag or vacuum-sealed formats depending on what the order calls for.
- Batch codes go on every carton for tracking.
Why Buyers Work With Us
A lot of importers have been burned before by suppliers who cut corners on offal because it’s seen as a lower-margin product. We don’t treat it that way. Every batch gets veterinary inspection before it leaves the facility, and the paperwork — halal certificate, health certificate, packing list — is ready before the buyer even asks for it. Smaller distributors also appreciate that we can split shipments instead of forcing a full container minimum every time.
Common Applications
- In South Asian kitchens, beef brain often shows up as bhejafry, pan-fried with onions and spices.
- North African cooks use it in tagines.
- There’s also a French tradition of cervelle meunière, brain lightly floured and pan-seared in butter.
- Halal butchers stock it for walk-in customers.
- Some food service buyers process it further into marinated, ready-to-cook portions before reselling to restaurants.
Processing & Quality Control
Slaughter happens under halal supervision at our S.I.F.-certified facility. The brain is extracted by trained staff almost immediately afterward, since delay affects tissue quality. From there it’s cleaned under hygienic conditions, checked visually and by weight, then moved into flash freezing within a few hours of processing. Metal detection runs before final packing, and everything stays in cold storage until it’s loaded for export.
Packaging Options
- Poly bag packaging works for most retail-focused buyers.
- Vacuum sealing extends shelf life a bit further and holds up better over long transit times.
- For bulk buyers we pack in export cartons, usually 10kg to 20kg, though we can adjust based on order size.
- Private label buyers can request custom labeling with halal marks and batch information printed on.
Storage Instructions
Keep it frozen at -18°C or colder throughout storage and transit. Once thawed, use within 24 hours — don’t refreeze it. If you’re reselling at retail, the cold chain needs to stay unbroken the whole way, or the texture starts breaking down fast.

Export & Logistics
We ship beef brain in both full container loads and smaller mixed-pallet quantities. Cold chain handling is managed on our end right through to port loading. Halal certification, veterinary health certificates, and certificate of origin are prepared ahead of shipping so customs on the receiving end doesn’t get held up waiting on documents. Current buyers are mostly in the Middle East and South Asia, with a growing number of inquiries from African importers too. Volume pricing is negotiable for repeat orders.
